this project is due tomorrow. i have about 5 minutes of video to soundtrack, and i’m about 1:20 in. also, i am the least economical garageband user ever, most of those tracks have like, one tiny sound on them. (except, weirdly, hiphop kit! which is totally useful for stuff like grating noises - i’m re-soundtracking jan svankmajer’s dimensions of dialogue.) i also have a written assignment which is not technically due tomorrow, but that i have to finish before then so i don’t have to drive back from terrigal to hand it in next week. fuuuuuuuu.

Mystery cat takes regular bus to the shops. Bus drivers have nicknamed a white cat Macavity after it has started using the No 331 several mornings a week. The feline, which has a purple collar, gets onto the busy Walsall to Wolverhampton bus at the same stop most mornings - he then jumps off at the next stop 400m down the road, near a fish and chip shop. The cat, nicknamed Macavity, has one blue eye and one green eye The cat was nicknamed Macavity after the mystery cat in T.S Elliot’s poem. He gets on the bus in front of a row of 1950s semi-detached houses and jumps off at a row of shops down the road which include a fish and chip shop. Driver Bill Khunkhun, 49, who first saw the cat jumping from the bus in January, said: “It is really odd, the first time I saw the cat jumping off the bus with a group of passengers. I hadn’t seen it get on which was a bit confusing. “The next day I pulled up on Churchill Road to let a couple of passengers on. As soon as I opened the doors the cat ran towards the bus, jumped on and ran under one of the seats, I don’t think any of the passengers noticed. “Because I had seen it jump off the day before I carried on driving and sure enough when I stopped just down the road he jumped off - I don’t know why he would catch the bus but he seems to like it. I told some of the other drivers on this route and they have seen him too.” Since January, when the cat first caught the bus he has done it two or three times a week and always gets on and off at the same stops. Passenger, Paul Brennan, 19, who catches the 331 to work, said: “I first noticed the cat a few weeks ago. At first I thought it had been accompanied by its owner but after the first stop it became quite clear he was on his own. “He sat at the front of the bus, waited patiently for the next stop and then got off. It was was quite strange at first but now it just seems normal. I suppose he is the perfect passenger really - he sits quietly, minds his own business and then gets off.” (Source)

say i brush the hairspray out of my hair, so it sits flat. will it catch fire if i blow dry it afterwards? i don’t want to wash it, because apparently it’s easier to style when it’s dirty, but sleeping on it has crushed all the volume out of the flip, and i need to do something about it before i go impress sca into letting me into an honours degree tomorrow, so i’d quite like to give it another thickener/blow dry/hair spray go over. however, i’ve never heated hair spray before and i have a feeling it could end in disaster. help?

so, for my 21st birthday last year, i went and saw xiu xiu play an incredibly mediocre show at the museum of fine art in boston. it was a really weird crowd (the overwhelming feel was “middle aged ex-hipsters going to the theatre”) and they mostly played stuff off “women as lovers”, which i never got into. (maybe i was just comparing it to the amazing show they did at the hopetoun last time they were in australia, idk.) however, they were supported by thao with the get down stay down, who i had never heard before, but who i was delighted by. the songs are all so cheery and danceable, and when i spoke to thao afterwards and told her how awesome i thought her band was, she seemed really really excited and hugged me, lol. i went and bought “we brave bee stings and all” the next day, and it’s been one of my summer, happy place albums ever since. this is off their new one, “know better learn faster”, which i haven’t listened to much so far, but this bodes well for it!

it’s not that it’s hard, it’s that on some computers, it literally will not let you type the letter while you’re holding both shift keys. when i typed it, i got ‘HE BROWN FO JUPED OER HE LOG’ even though i pressed every key correctly.
