thought i would create a powerpoint on this since the post went down well yesterday
Quite good, but I do suggest fetching them something cool (water would be best, but a bottle of soda could work to). Drinking can help, as can resting the bottle on the back of their neck
I was a big dickhead to one of my best friends who suffers bad anxiety and panic attacks once. It was the first time I’d witnessed a panic attack and I told her to calm down. I regret that so much.
Sometimes drinking or eating something with a bit of sugar in it can help too, so offering to get a soda or drink is seconded here. Just be sure to ask first etc, and don’t be a dick.
oh god THE TOUCHING, i know that most people find touch comforting/grounding when they’re freaking out, but considering these days my panic attacks are mostly caused by claustrophobia & crowds, nothing makes me feel more trapped than the idea that you’re trying make my personal space bubble smaller by invading it. THAT SAID, for future reference if we’re in a crowd & i freak out, it’s actually pretty gr8 if we’re bros & you put yourself between me and the strangers while we’re getting out of said crowd?
